Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
by Tennessee Williams
Directed by Sean Graney
December 17, 2006 – February 4, 2007

The winner of the 1955 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is Tennessee Williams’ story of a Southern family struggling to face mortality, and the lies they must tell each other and themselves to do so. “I am trying to catch the true quality of experience in a group of people, that cloudy, flickering, evanescent - fiercely charged! - interplay of live human beings in the thundercloud of a common crisis.” This stage direction is buried in the text of the play, and The Hypocrites production will strive to create that “fiercely charged” environment of a family driven to the point of cruelty.
